Another form are the housecleanings – of course the area where we live has to be clean and joyful as well. A housecleaning allows to get rid of energies we do not want. Its recommended to do a housecleaning after moving in to cleanse the energy of the former habitants, or if we do not feel comfortable and balanced any more. This can cause physical ailments, emotional imbalances or that visitors do not feel comfortable (as sometimes it is easier for people who do not live there to feel these energies ). Doing a housecleaning always includes protecting the place so in future no negative energies can settle there.

… but we have the opportunity to be reborn in this life already. The Temazcal allows us to leave behind everything that keeps us from joyful living and merges us into a state of survival. We can let go of all the physical and emotional pain that does not allow us to act freely, all the fears, anxieties and boundaries that hold us back, in the Temazcal.
Our Mexihka ancestors have found a way to integrate the four elements – earth, water, air and fire – with movement, and have created the sacred space of Temazcalito. The place is like the womb of our mother earth and inside the structure we will find similar conditions as we had before we were born: It will be warm, it will be wet, it will be dark and we will feel safe. Inside we will be healing ourselves and our beloved ones, we will be talking and singing, we will be sweating and allowing our body to detox and to let go of things we do not want to carry around anymore. So we can be reborn – free and happy again …

We cannot hold onto time, but we can understand it. “Where do I come from, Where do I go, Who am I, What are my abilities, Where are my limits …?”, Tonalmaxiotl allows us to give answers to these fundamental questions. It is a tool to understand time and to live according to its energies. It shows us our strong sides and our challenges and teaches us to use each moment best due to its energy.
Each year has special energies, likewise the veintenas (unity of 20 days) or the days themselves. When we understand their influence we can learn to use their properties. There are moments to talk and times that definitely should not be used to clean up our houses. The Tonalmaxiotl gives us the knowledge to live with the time and its energies so we do not have to struggle when living against it.
